Nightmare

Shake me, break me, wake me up,
My torment is eternal,
Nightmares pouring from my cup,
My heart engulfed, infernal.
I used to drink the sweetest potion,
It gave me strength and hope,
Now I'm drowning in an ocean,
As you taunt me with a rope.
I gave you all I had to give,
Of course I came up short,
Losing all my will to live,
As you sail off to port.
Alone and drowning in this dream,
You said we were forever,
The light of which I used to gleam,
That lead me here to never.
