Nightmare

Twisted darkness all around,
cannot even hear a sound.
Shallow depths where one gets lost,
many paths appear to be crossed.
Not knowing which road to take,
as I'm feeling the earth below shake.
Cold shivers run down my spine,
can't even walk in a straight line.
Rocking quakes from all around,
feels like I'm sinking into the ground.
Cannot see my feet anymore,
hearing screams and a sudden roar.
Is it human? I can't tell.
or have I lost myself to hell?
Is this a dream or is this real?
Sudden fear is all I feel.
Can I be saved from this dark place?
Or is this hell that I must face?
Feeling blasts of something inside,
to ignore I definitely tried.
Shivering from breezes so cold,
feeling weak as my body will fold.
Curling up onto the ground,
hoping soon I will be found.
A sudden shake and I'm awake,
the nightmares over for goodness sake.
