Nightmare

Everywhere I look all I see is death,
Staring deep into the eyes of death.
Look deep into the grim reaper’s eyes,
The blackness is overtaking my soul.

A creepy figure watches me sleep,
Pennywise smiles within my dream.
Trapped within a forest of trees,
Its grip so dense it’s hard to breathe.

No knowing what’s hiding in the dark,
Hiding within the mist leaving marks.
Thunder and lightning rumble and flash,
Like instruments with a bang and clash.

Daylight shatters in the blink of an eye,
Like dropping a vase from way up high.
Chucky watches over from the nightstand,
Ready to make you run and jump scared.

Yeah, I stepped outside of my comfort zone with this one. I wanted to stretch myself, push my boundaries a little. I've had a mixed response of emotions to this poem. Which is what I was expecting. You can't and won't grow unless you are willing to take chances/risks.
