Nightingale

Nachtigall / Nightingale / Ruiseñor

Dort im Flieder
Die Nachtigall singt ihr Lied
Am stillen Morgen

There in the lilac
The nightingale sings her song
In a calm morning

Allí en la lila
El ruiseñor canta su canción
En mañana tranquila

Hallo Gert, es tut mir leid ich habe nicht die soupmail. Ich wusste nicht, dass Sie Ihren Arm verletzt hatte!? Aber ich bin froh, dass du schon viel besser. Bitte kümmern Sie sich, lieber Freund. Immer, Annalise : ) No! I do not speak German except a few words. Thought it would amuse you so I used Google's translator! lol Have a lovely week and enjoy the blooms, Gert!

Beautiful image, Gert. So glad you're up for the partnership poem : ) We each write up to 10 lines of the poem on the theme of what love means. Perhaps haiku written in 3 languages? I'd be much obliged if you'd translate for me! If not, I'll have a go with the online translators. The poem's deadline is 1st April - I think it's the first contest listed under 'contests'. It sounds like fun, doesn't it? Best of luck with the detective story : ) Jack

Another lovely image that works well in all three languages, Gert. In this case, it is the German that seems easier to translate, though the last line of the Spanish version certainly is understandable. Keep teaching -- you have a captive audience! Love, Carolyn
