Night Visit

Last night you visited me in my dreams An unexpected, but wonderful surprise You approached the bed I was laying on Ever so quietly you came to me With an outreached hand you touched my cheek Your warm hands covered my face You leaned your body towards me Ever so quietly you kissed me We fell upon the covers where we stayed Wrapped within each other’s arms We held each other through the night Ever so quietly did we lay When morning came, you had to leave Disappearing when I awoke Although I’ll not see you ‘til tonight Ever so quietly you’ll stay with me
