Night Time Protector

In the darkness of the growing night I bask in the bright warmth of your light Lying down to a comfortable rest Your head a happy weight on my chest I drift from the sparking joy of your smile And soak weary feet in dreams for a while In the ink black hours my eye flutter wide Only your silken touch makes the fear subside And bringing my heart from gallop to trot Turning a night’s terrors to memories forgot Keeping my night safe you are turning the tide An ever warm presence as you curl at my side When the morning light creeps over the room Slowly I awake to your sweet perfume Your arms encircle my slumbering form Keeping me safe through the night time storm I can never express this deep joy inside But of my love for you I can confide
