Notes About The Poem

NIGHT OF THE MASCERADE

For Nette Onclaud;s Contest : Seven by Seven. 22-1-26

The lights, brighter than the moon,
bedazzled the pergola.
I watched a graceful, sad clown.
With movements so delicate,
she had stolen this man's heart.
Lola removed her clown mask.

His moustache and beard revealed.
