Night of Terror

Midnight came
Rain was pouring down
Thought it was ordinary
Felt safe and sound.

Heard those thunder
Night of terror!
Death came to houses
With its utmost power.

Waters rushing on floor
All lights were off
Trying to escape nightmare
They never dreamed of.

Lungs were filled of water
Drowned lives to darkness
Voices of people rage
Fearful and helpless.

Thousands died
Never saw the morning light
All I hear was cry
From that horrendous night.

Your words paint a very haunting image in this poem. Very well written, Lei!

This is a very good piece, Lei. Well, maybe the 3rd line of the last verse, change that to stronger words. A little footnote below the poem would help too, to explain what inspired you to write the piece. I like the progressive way you told the story. Ate Kim :)
