Night Mares
Night Mares
Rumblings ‘neath soft cover of the day
thundering within a broken mindscape
deny pale light - last quarter - failing moon
dark riders of approaching Night Mares come.
Arouse the primal scent of demons breath
cold emptiness of eyes forever closed
released upon the other side of fear
flaring nostrils straining reason’s reins.
Shriek of fear within a silent valley
clawing fingers entombed in silken shroud
forever’s fog - maestro of such madness
a-gallop on the Night Mares – charcoal steeds.
