Night and Light
Night's dark mantle falls once more
across the face of man,
shadows loom out from the dark
absorbing all they scan.
But none can see within their sphere
for darkness hides their curse,
within the realms of phantom night
where nightmares can't reverse.
No light exists to salvage souls
who drown in darkest hell
infested by dark demons
who feast on nighttime's spell.
When morn again casts light on day
night's shadows disappear,
but scars remain across man's soul
from darkest nighttime’s fear.
And all is changed as day and night
take turns to feed Mankind
for light and dark's erosion
etches furrows on man’s mind.
