Niche

It's happening again
My thoughts are bleeding through my pen
My writer's block in shock tonight
as I enter dawn by candlelight

Divulge to all my joy and pain
reiterate my words again
From wrinkled mind to wrinkled page
I spill it all in grace or rage

Do I attract the friends I make
by inviting laughs for egos' sake?
Or tugging at their empathy
To bring them closer still to me?

I write to share a common ground
Indulging in the craft I've found
By seeping through my trusty pen
I've found my niche', my love, my friend.

Erma Bombeck I remember well. She was so funny. The last I read was if life's a bowl of cherries what am I doing in the pits? (Or something like that) Anyway I consider this another excellent poem. I kind of second guess my motives sometimes but foremost I'm a gamer. Especially puzzles. No puzzle is as perplexing as making sense of rhymes, I think. Anyway well done!!!

This was fantastic Gayle. I can see that you really put a lot of thought not only in the theme, making sure it tells the story completely and the rhymes, they are spot on, but as well the cadence or melody of the poem. I can see the word choices in some lines and why you made them. I think that is so cool, I really enjoy reading a poem that flows smoothly and rhymes effortlessly. Really nicely done. You are quite talented. (Punctuation or not) :)
