Next Step
I’ve spent time learning you, your wants and needs
But you’ve managed to leave me lonely, my heart bleeds
All I ever wanted was simply to be everything you needed me to be
You’re too busy running to see this truth, why must you do this to me?
I’m not sure if I’ll be hanging on much longer, I know I need to let go
But before I do, there are some things I want you to know
You were able to fill my world with vitality and light
My dark days with you in them were always bright
You gave me butterflies when I felt your lips sweetly rest on mine
I didn’t know it was possible, but you made my heart shine
The light guided me to your arms, to your warm embrace
Night after night, my dreams have been filled with your incredible face
I refuse though to trap you in something you’re not ready for
Maybe one day you’ll look back and see what you had in store
I don’t want to walk away, I need some input from you
I’ll give you anything you want, as long as I know your heart is true
Honesty, loyalty, and admiration are all I hold inside
These limitless emotions can no longer hide
So will you accept them, cherish them, be grateful that they’re being given to you?
Or simply turn you’re face because you’re scared you feel the same way too?
It’s okay to care for me, and even love me through and through
I’ve already made my decision; the next step is up to you…
