New Years Prayer

Thank You God for this New Year;
I lay it down before You;
Show me how to spend the time
‘cause the hours always seem so few.
Help me pass through each new day;
Use it to glorify Your Son;
Show me where I need improvement;
Victory over temptations to be won.

I ask that You will use me
To show Your love each day;
To a world that desperately needs You,
But often fails to choose Your way.
Remind me to surrender
Each day as it dawns,
For each day belongs to You, Lord,
Until each sunset yawns.

Each New Year is filled with hope
Of bigger and better things;
That’s how the world views it,
But that’s not what it always brings.
Help each soul who finds their trials,
A little harder to bear;
Find peace by surrendering them
Into Your loving care.

You have the answers in each New Year
That man struggles hard to find.
If only he would pray for help,
Instead of stumbling ‘round half blind.
May this year bring me closer
In my walk with You, Lord,
For that’s the only way,
New Year’s blessings can be stored.
