New Year's Blues

Yes
I am fragile
This storm might blow me away
Hold me with care,my lover
I may break in your arms
Or maybe its true
That I'm already broken
Sometimes it seems
That you don't understand me
That you're blind to the true colors
That dwell under my dress and make-up
Black and blue
All bruised up
As the boy sang his songs of sorrow
You said that they were only meant
For the ears
Of the lost
Of the lonely
Of all the people who weep
In dark corners
Well, honey, that's me
The lady that sways her hips
To the blues
These tears aren't for the words
That were spoken against me
These tears are ancient
And continue to fall
For a lifetime.
