New Year Thoughts
Times are changing
From one year to the next
Pasts are erased
And expectations met.
Making self promises
Looking to a new you
People partying around
To welcome new year in.
Remembering the good
Learning from the bad
Leaving the past
And all that is sad.
In future there is hope
Of a new and improved life
Motivation to good
Make the world a better place.
We reminisce on loses
Those who we've left behind
And pray that they are safe
Up among the stars.
But whilst we celebrate
Time ticks on by
January has begun
As bells strike midnight.
Times are changing
From one year to the next
The future is upon us
Lets make this great.
