New Found

Light filters in through the darkness in my soul
There is a glimmer of hope I can see
It leaves me feeling strong and in control
Yeah I think I may actually be free
You are that beacon that gives me hope
You are my rescue boat that has arrived
I now find myself having courage to cope
And to know that I have made it through and survived
Because of you, my everlasting flame
Nothing compares to you and what you are to me
I can’t believe that a miracle like this came
And helped me escape my old reality
The one where I was weak and miserable and full of rage
Who couldn’t find happiness and was constantly afraid
The life I lived before has been turned to its final page
This is a transformation, a new life I have made
Full of all the things I used to never dream
Love, hope, peace of mind and being content
It almost makes me scream
Because of the miracle God has sent
In the form of the most marvelous human being ever made
With the eyes of an angel and the heart of a saint
All the hurt I have gone through, all the dues I have paid
Is worth it all for the portrait that I now paint
The one with me smiling and full of joy
Standing beside you my lover, my best friend
I am eternally yours and you are eternally mine
And nothing can ever overcome our bond until eternity’s end
This thing we have between us is easy to define
It’s called love, simple and pure
So deep and passionate, it cannot be broken
And that is why standing here today I am sure
I love you and yet I can leave the words unspoken
Because words are empty and without true meaning 
But what lies in my heart and the look in your eyes
That is what makes this union so appealing
And why we can overcome any pain and all the lies
To be together forever and never shall we be parted
Even in death, we will stand the test of time
No longer will we be lonely or broken hearted
Because we have found the person we were meant to find
