New Beginnings
decision made, you're glad to be alive,
invoke the will, the determination to survive,
make a contract with yourself, that is the way
to start again, let life begin afresh today,
the past will still be there unwilling to go away
but new perspectives dawn to keep its ghosts at bay,
what's gone is gone forever, impossible to change,
what is to come is yours, control within your range,
that which you wish you keep,
that to forget you bury deep
in the crypts of profound rememberance out of current mind
to be recalled only if needed, if a use you find
to aid the understanding of the new,
you have the will, the future is up to you.
