New Air

An emptiness fills me
That I can't contain
One more time I play
This lonely note refrain
The space required for change
Expands beyond my reach
I'm older now, wiser too
With nothing new to teach
Finding out and digging out
The house I built is bare
All my best intentions
I am breathing in new air
