Never With Gentler Hands

With the birth of my baby girl
I received a father's boon.
When Mom laid her in my arms
My joy soared over the moon!

So cognizant of her worth
I held her with infinite care.
With focus and tender hands
I stroked her auburn hair.

I knew I was holding a miracle
Something no man could create.
This work of beauty and gift of life
I could no way anticipate.

So silently I wept and prayed
In my spirit I saw Jesus stand.
In view of your worth, I drew you closer
Never with Gentler hands

Tom, your words show how you cherish the miracle of your daughter as you first meet her and rejoice in her "worth" as her father. So beautifully written. A precious gift. Sending you blessings of autumn joy!
