Never To Yield

The miles I’ve walked,
the verses I’ve rhymed

The demons I’ve fought,
the mountains I’ve climbed

Each word as a sword,
its meaning a shield

To ward off the darkness
—and never to yield

(Dreamsleep: November, 2019)
