Never There

Though it causes you so much pain It's about time to come out of the rain Demanding and strong oh so bold Pretending to be so stone cold Because you simply refuse to believe A heart and soul you could retrieve Unwillingly though surrendered to you A spot of light and a moment of truth Those words spoken to beat me down Was like the smile on the face of a clown When I was hurting you weren't even my friend As I sat there and watched you pretend Won't give the satisfaction of showing you care It was all in my head because you were never there Keep hiding your eyes because they tell the truth The stuff inside you keep on a noose If you really do want to be all alone Keep on acting like you're cold as a stone Won't keep watching and continue to care When all along you were never there
