Never Mind the Signs
Never mind the warning signs that you
Might find when you get to know me.
Just ignore the path I’ve forged through
This cold world so stupidly.
I’ve yet to find the grand design
That should be mine and mine alone.
When I do, I look forward to choosing
A higher path that’s set in stone.
I think it’s clear, in the coming years
I’m finally nearing the peace I crave.
Throughout my life, I’ve never thought
Twice about how much time I really waste.
I refuse to give up, my daughter still loves
Me, and that’s enough to motivate me.
I made a promise, to her I’m honest
In the end I’ll astonish the entire family.
Nobody expects it so it’ll perplex them
When I make the corrections to finally live right.
So never mind the warning signs
That you might find within me tonight.
It’s not easy to work on yourself..
Especially when you feel so alone.
Never mind that too.
Another sad necessity on the road
To personal growth.
