Never Make a Promise You Cannot Keep
I will never make a promise that I cannot keep
I watch you sleep, your sighs are deep
Don’t worry, I have your back in every way
I’ll be here today, I am yours to stay
I will not promise you frankincense or myrrh
but my heart is open, my thoughts are pure
you are safe with me, I have best intentions in mind
we are cozy in our pod, two of a like mind.
I will not promise I can take away any hurt or pain
but you have me to dance with in the sun or rain
I am by your side, and here I will always be
We are two of a kind, until we become three.
