Never Let the Monsters Come Out To Play

Keep each other safe, and out of harm’s way, Know who is doing good or doing bad— Never let the monsters come out to play. When you go to the park with friends each day, Make sure that you leave with your mom or dad; Keep each other safe, and out of harm’s way. Don’t talk to strangers, always walk away, And remember which color car they had— Never let the monsters come out to play. Call your friends often, make sure they’re okay, Only do things to make each other glad; Keep each other safe, and out of harm’s way. Always be careful of the words you say, Especially, when you are really mad— Never let the monsters come out to play. In conclusion, let’s keep in mind today, Hugs make us smile and hitting makes us sad. Keep each other safe, and out of harm’s way, Never let the monsters come out to play. © 2022

This is such a wonderful poem and an important message, Thomas. I'm so glad you wrote this and shared it with us here. It needs to be read by every kid who will be out and about this summer. Good writing.
