Never Knowing
She was wild, free,
Everyone thought she was insane.
But he knew,
He knew she was just different.
That was why he loved her.
She did not know of his love.
She had not heard him speak of it
And she felt too modest to flatter herself with
thoughts of his
Undieing love.
He was quiet, shy,
People thought him snobbish, crude.
But she knew,
She knew of his intelligence.
That was why she loved him.
He did not know of her love.
He had not heard her speak of it.
He felt too modest to flatter himself that she would
truly be
In love with him.
They spoke but they did not communicate.
Their love was not seen through their words.
They would spend the rest of their lives apart,
Never knowing.
