Never Going To Drag Me Down
When night awakens to shatter dreams,
When pain penetrates my entire being,
And haunting fear angrily screams;
I may pause, but I'll never break down
With prayer in my heart I'll carry on
And no matter how potent is the pull
It's never going to drag me down.
I will rise up, to bounce right back
Even in face of a crushing setback
I will lift my courage way up high
With all my strength I'll choose to defy
If you ever hear my inaudible sigh
It just means I'm driven to survive.
When disaster strikes a tragic letdown,
When grief dominates all around,
And vicious squall rings somber sound;
I may pause, but I'll never break down
With prayer in my heart I'll carry on
And no matter how potent is the pull
It's never going to drag me down.
I will rise up, to bounce right back
Even in face of a crushing setback
I will lift my courage way up high
With all my strength I'll choose to defy

When death and misery occupy life,
And a solitary discourse silently cries;
