Never Come

I am waiting for you.
In a sense, I'll always be waiting for you.
This pain.
This pain starts in my chest.
Right at my heart.
Pulsing and thumping.
Slowly moving outward until it covers my torso.
I am waiting for you.
Pounding and growing.
Making me ache.
Making me cry.
I am waiting for you.
You who will never come.
Never give me what I want.
Never be able to love me.
But here I am.
Waiting for you.
I am waiting.
Waiting for you.
But you will never come.
I am sorry.
Sorry to myself for thinking you'll love me.
For thinking that you like me.
I know the truth.
I'm not dumb.
O.K., maybe I am.
Because I'm still waiting.
Waiting for you.
But you will never come.
