Never back again

I can feel you in the night,
See your face in the pale moonlight,
As yesterday echoes through the room.
Fading whispers on the breeze
Move softly over autumn leaves
And still I smell your sweet perfume.

On the rise morning awakes,
The long lost dreams time now forsakes,
And like the moon, the day slips away.
Somewhere on a dusty road
What comes together will unfold,
While illusions continue their play.

Pictures once held in hands
Fade away with the shifting sands,
Just like the sun setting in the east.
So many things come to mind
When one goes searching back through time,
But not everything will be released.

As the years go passing by
I still find that I question why
All the memories are growing dim.
Suddenly my soul cries
When I am forced to realize
I can never bring you back again.
