Never
Never did she look more beautiful
than when her mother held her in her arms.
All pink with soft, fresh skin,
wrapped in a blanket sleeping soundly.
A perfect moment that he never thought would happen.
Never did she look more happy
than when he put the flower on her wrist.
Her eyes glittering with joy,
matching the ball gown that took weeks to find.
The date he never thought he would say yes to.
Never did she look more in love
than when that ring was slipped on her finger.
The tears falling down her cheeks,
making this moment even more perfect.
Good-bye was never such a joyful event.
Never did she look more beautiful
than when she held her baby in her arms.
The tiny nose and bright eyes
looking exactly like her mother’s.
He never thought that life could get any better.
