Netherland

Twixt life and death where few can see
there lurks a place that is not free.
Where souls are bound in endless plight
and roam inanely without light.

Re-living times that long have gone
with screams of past that still live on.
This twilight zone beyond the grave
bears witness to mankind’s deprave.

For in this hell where ghost live on
where neither life nor death has won,
alone no one can see the way
to shed their burdens of life’s day
.
Here Gods and Angels strive to tell,
assisted by few men as well,
the way that souls may break their chains
and help to free them of their pains.

But devils also haunt this place
and stoke the fires of evil’s pace
to keep poor souls within this hell
washed by the waves of devil’s spell.

It is not easy in this land
to help poor souls to understand
that they have shed their earthy shell
then guide them from this living hell.

But this, with help from souls that know,
is why some venture down below
for freeing souls tied to their past
will let them find release at last.

Indeed for those who take this path
we know the devil has last laugh
for Satan strives to fill this pool
where he alone is free to rule.

But those we help along the way
reward us for the game we play
by proving evil can succumb,
and robbing devils can be fun!
