Nemesis of a Premise
It's deeper than the shadows
and more shallow than the truth.
It comes despite great wisdom
and in spite of guiltless youth.
It tickles at the psyche
and it spreads a reckless rash,
it yearns for satisfaction
but the itch cannot be scratched.
The raging become victims
opposition cannot hear
and red stained resolutions
never stand to persevere.
An outburst has no power
when a temper seeks out wars
it's impact becomes hollow
when all listening ignore.
Though anger gets attention
any point made pricks too brief.
The strength of all convictions
must rely upon belief.
The purest of intentions
cannot be expressed without
a pause to calmly listen
while an adversary doubts.
The loudest voice may carry
over questions raised in tow
but reason does a service
when the argument draws low.
It's those who seek to batter;
force their righteousness on all
who stand as thin as shadows
when their fervency has stalled.
Their cursive tongues encrypted
in their fits of manic fire
and so entire theses
fall on ears deafened by ire.
