Neighbor Tomatoes
my neighbors are waiting
for summer tomatoes
but
the mud never left
today it poured
the tomato plants never got off the ground
I was poking around
looking for green anything
that resembled a vegetable
but its a muddy lump of something
even the zuchinni never made it
drowned in spring and summer rain
not enough sun
to grow anything
today I could have gone
for a tomato mayo sandwhich
I'll have to see if my neighbors
have a tomato
