Neglected

Neglecting the return to the edge of faithless cries
Holding on to what I can now describe
The sense of a demon that followed all his lies
The betrayal of the angel that took him for a ride

Neglecting every thought that tried to take my eyes
Trying to hold on to a world that taught me to despise
Trusting every feeling as I learned to compromise
Patiently I stand and hope to realise

Neglecting false hope and the fading gold
Still holding on to wisdom as it grows
The wealth of the witness to what they all sold
The search for an answer is something we all hold

Reflecting from a mirror that collected souls
Learning from the dead and everything they told
Stories of a place that learned to conquer pain
The stories of an ancient fight that now seems in vain

Infecting through the ghosts of the dead that fell
The secondary coming through the silent swell
The ignorant deceivers run around and yell
It was never ourselves but was in fact our hell
