Need An Excuse

Need An Excuse

Why would I ever need an excuse
When I wanted to pursue a ruse
Making love followed by romance
At barroom while we would dance.

Did dance around like on a carrousel
Something about you seemed to compel?
Me to have feeling so extraordinary
Bright baby in future could you carry?

But it had been like a flimflam affair
And when it ended we did not care
Was as if together we shared a room
Being beautify bride with her groom.

Ecstasy was now truly in the making
Both of our breath's away was taking
Why should we put off or even stall
Then to each other we gave our all.

Yes, for the moment surely did live
And would give anything to retrieve
All of the things that we have done
When her hair was worn up in a bun.

That night still appears in my dreams
And when each time I think of it seems
Forget it, I definitely never ever will
Wonderful experience w did fulfil.

I've read many poems labeled 'couplet' James. Most of them are not. I truly enjoyed reading one which lived up to its name.

Most of my poems usually do, unless they are Horn Haiku which often rhyme and others say it is not supposed to. To me, originality and creativity are each an important element of poetry that a poet would have sealed in cement. Jim Horn
