Near Death In the Woods. (Not My Best Work)

The darkness washes over me,
as I close my eyes.
I pray that death comes quickly,
Her icy grasp is no surprise.
I wonder which world is ahead of me,
And if I will be alone.
I wish I hadn't come here,
that I had just gone home.
I wait a few more moments,
then open one eye,
to see that the man who was to kill me,
has began to cry.
His sorrow I do not question,
for I am to far gone.
Now I hide in the trees,
to catch my breath as I move on.
Hoping that I'm not followed,
I reach the side walk's edge,
never have I been so happy,
to see the neighbor's hedge.
I sneak back through my window,
when I have reached my home,
Vowing that in the forest,
I never again shall roam.

So sad, your poems are full of pain. Is that you?
