Near But Far

NEAR BUT FAR

So close, but far apart
Close in body, far in heart
You're near to me but on the phone
You're my company, yet I feel alone

Conversation. Words but few
I sit contemplating what to do
My best friend, my parthner.
My confidant, my lover
We sit so close, yet far from each other

A touch of hands, of feet, of lips
How did it come down to this
But even though our words are few
You love me and I love you
