Navigation of Night

I’ve felt the vacancy that darkness brings
Every bit and piece, all the little things

Lost reality, the great stall of time
Wishes forfeit, without proper rhyme

Thoughts left unclaimed, chaos without order
Misguided dreams of a nightmare hoarder

Could a wish come true if worded just right
Why do they vanish with the ending of night

Deceit is conjured in the depths of the mind
It searches for answers that it will never find

A prankster of sorts, its skits are in vain
Its only truth is bringing you pain

Maybe tomorrow as a new sunrise comes
Impulse will surge, from some new found crumbs

Don’t give up on love or dismiss your desire
Lightning might strike and relite your fire

Uplifting words Mark, perhaps you sum me up with your deceit is conjured couplet, but I reckon everyone can find a bit of themselves within this wonderful poem, cheers David

I really like the last four lines. The whole work is very expressive and descriptive with a longing quality. I enjoyed reading this one. Thanks for your visit to my page. Sara

A creative story/write. Love your line, "Maybe tomorrow as a new sunrise comes" After the long night comes the bright sun light. Have a great/blessed day writing away....................
