Nature's New Birth

Earth breaks forth from it’s winter chill
as bare ground overtakes the white.
Retreating more with each day’s pass,
the snow’s reach is now in it’s flight.

Rays of warm light stretch through the woods
as shadows retreat here and there.
Spring comes with it’s seasonal “goods”,
you can smell it’s scent in the air.

Hours later, again I write
as the cold gives way to the warm.
More day now is bathed in sun’s light;
time outdoors becomes the norm.

Far into the day, soft winds blow
warmer breezes across the land.
My heart lifts as once more I know
that nature’s new birth is at hand.

Nice use of imagery and rhyme for an uplifting view. I like the idea of writing bringing warmth because that is what it does for me too. Keep on writing! Best wishes. Karen
