Nature's Decay and Rebirth

"Flowers fade and decay through wintry hours- waiting for rebirth."
Quote by - Constance La France

Nature's Decay and Rebirth

Their lavender blooms fade and die,
Hyacinth's leaves shrivel and dry.
Like petaled straw littering the gardens,
Fading life earth hardens.

Chill winds invite frost, rain and snow,
Putting to sleep bulbs far below.
Tucked deeply beneath the fallen decay,
Safe from winter’s cold sway.

Silent and still the winter through,
Hyacinths await nature’s due.
Her timing is nature’s own perfection,
With timely direction.

Dormant bulb awakens to spring,
Green shoots thrust out as if to sing.
Life renewed from beneath garden's blanket,
Spring's own color banquet.

Summer’s heat begins to take toll,
But hyacinth is seeking a parole.
A last burst of color with blooms galore,
Then fade just like before.

lovely poem -- the cycle of the hyacinth is perfect for this contest. You had some unique imagery that I liked: Life renewed from beneath garden's blanket,
