This beautiful haiku has raised me up to the height of that kite looking down on my home village by the sea Geoffrey. Congratulations and thank you for that image.

This too is an exceptional haiku, I can picture a red kite surveying its territory, a wonderful scene. However, had it not of been I would have downgraded it. No haiku should be titled, or signed if you follow the Japanese tradition. Sadly in these modern days signing is a must to maintain one's copyright, etcetera, but titles, no need, spoils the surprise, the name of the form suffices. Well deserved congratulations Geoffrey... Thank you for your kind assessment, Mick. I will eschew the title for future haku.

A very expressionistic Haiku my dear Geoffrey. Reminiscent not only of my school days and remembering past events, but bringing a visual of the scene what lays below as it is - So well put in three lines. Actually, it brings to mind a Haiku called 'Soaring Hawk' I wrote a year ago on the way back from Hawaii...Thanks for sharing Geoff...Maria :)

Thank you, Maria. I too am enamoured with soaring birds and other feathered friends. I have read your multiple haiku on the subject and am very impressed.
