Natural Man

Imagine, if the trees could bleed and the flowers cry out in pain,
Man wouldn’t worship graven images nor aspire for heaven in vain?

I can imagine it, and sometimes I think they are crying out in pain - the trees. Good luck in the contest; I think you have a fine contender!

I was trimming some branches of an over-grown crabapple tree in the backyard and felt very very uneasy. I thought of this couplet. Appreciate your comment very much, Caren.
