Nativity
Prophets of old from time immemorial had foretold,
Evils of ages and eras, like dried leaves, will be storm-soared;
Seeds of freedom, not like wheat, but like ember, sternly sown,
Would erupt, like lava, and the earthly vile would get blown...
Thus, revolution, in form of flesh, took birth in a womb,
That, like fertile earth, stood ready for insurgence to bloom;
Virgin Mother the tool of God, gave up her sacred will,
To bring forth the great savior; wisdom-words, thus, to fulfill...
Not gaining place in the inn is not meager helplessness,
Nor manger, a curse for deviation or sinfulness;
Divine will has way of reaching absolute fulfillment,
In this achievement, human beings are God's instrument...
And thus, the time of that exact atonement hour arrived,
In Mary, age-old promise of salvation got revived;
History of deliverance, phase by phase went dawning,
To quench the thirst of humanity, in bondage drowning...
The child born, though seem helpless, is not a thing of pity,
He's king, king of kings, Emmanuel, witty and gritty;
He is a silent sage of endless ages, who tells the world:
Tasks of humanity to be achieved are manifold...
Lullabies, angels sing for him are, songs of liberty,
Earth and heaven are bound in eternal affinity;
Shepherds discern the divinity and joyously sing,
Church bells - Gloria mingled Alleluia - loudly ring...
