Nancy
When we first met
You were over the wall
If I had to talk to you
Thought for sure I’d bawl.
You weren’t there very long
Soon you were off to HR
Doing payroll was your goal
Who knows it might take you far.
A few years of that
And you wished you hadn’t roamed
Back to the business office you came
A place to call home.
On breaks we’d see each other
Cause we’re smokers you and me
In those few minutes everyday
The real you I got to see.
I called you in a crisis
You helped to calm me down
I realized in that moment
A friend I had found.
So now that you’re leaving
Going back from where you came
Remember your friend in Arizona
Wrote you a poem that’s kinda lame.
