Myth

I have wasted
so much time
trying to feel loved,
trying to be liked
the earth is a ball
your thoughts are tight
and there is no heart
in sight...

I had a big doll
when I was a child
she could walk
by my side
he broke her legs
I couldn't fight
I curled in a corner
and I cried...

She left me waiting
without remorse
she turned around
and closed the door
she never tried
to mend the hole
she left in me
and in my world...

He never came
he left me alone
he knew where I was
all along
he wasn't the rose
he was the thorns
he couldn't walk
on his own...

There is a star
above me
which keeps me alive
which makes me sing
there is no God
I hate to admit
and fate and luck
are just a myth
