Myelopathy
Myelopathy
Miracle Man
9/23/2023
I didn’t know what Myelopathy was until,
a Neurosurgeon told me that I had it and I got his bill.
Now hands are numb with balance problems and joint pain,
six months in a neck brace and rehab drove me near insane.
Now the quality of my life is mostly from a walker,
and I’ll readily admit, I’ve become somewhat a squawker.
Barely one year past extensive surgery on my neck,
I’m often caught thinking, I’m 84, what the heck.
I’m told the screws installed have now become loose,
and what I think I hear is just another lame excuse.
I’m told that without a redo it will get progressive worse,
the hard choice I’ve made, to some, seems to be adverse.
But I’ll be here until God decides on calling me away,
now, I only seek His peace to get me through each day.
