My Wish

I hold your hand every day....
And have yet to feel your touch....
I have kissed your lips a thousand times....
Still their taste is unknown to me....
Each night I lay my head upon your chest....
But I do not know the sound of your heart....
I have seen our passion while making love....
Only to be denied the wondrous sensations that only lovers share....

So I ask myself.... Are you real or just a fantasy?

We have shared our thoughts, our hopes, our dreams
Together we have laughed and cried
We’ve tasted the bitters that life had to offer
And taken them all in stride
We’ve traveled your mountains of rock and stone
Crossed your deserts of blazing heat
Survived the raging waters that rushed us
And swept us from our feet
We followed the path you chose for us
Gained wisdom, strength and pride
So why have you forsaken us
And denied the love inside
We have become one in so many ways
Joined by a special bond
Yet our life, our love, our future
Lies uncertain within the great beyond
I long for him, he longs for me
So full of love that we could burst
Let us drink from your heavenly cup
And quench the endless thirst
Oh Dear Father I beg of you
Please hear my selfish plea
Grant us this single wish
Make US a reality
