My Winter

My winter's begun
No more laughing
No more fun

Lifelong friends
Have slipped away
Facing bitter ends

Snow on roof
As fire fades
Vitals now aloof

When winter ends
Will I be
Well, that depends

Winter can bring such a chill - literally as well as figuratively and you have nailed it with this philosophical piece! BRAVO! Pandita

Jerry, It sounds like you have a touch of SAD that comes in winter blues. I too have lost so many friends which makes one really face one's mortality. Penned poignantly with your brilliant hand! Happy Holidays! ; )
