My Way Out

does she understand that i am who ive been made
i know that you see me as a way of bad doing
i am not the monster they created i am life

i am a survivor from the world we all live in
i walked this earth from east to west
i drank from the cup of deception

i suffered by the hands of your sons
and ran away slowely
i bacame an image of them

time was my enemy as was night and day
i became reluctant to continue my journey
wanting to dissappear

i fell face first into a timeless place
that left me alone with my angry face
i nearly died a dozen times and time again

in a winters cold night i laid in my hell
forced to face my truth
SET ME FREE OH LORD i prayed

not until i forgave did i become anew
with the love in my heart and strength in my soul
i was able to get up and walk through the doors

i see the message i see it clear
He was always there
i just had to look

a great poem my friend full of devotion, i too was in a deep dark place and yet he still came and dug me out pulled me right up it's like sometimes we can not see for looking, his light always shines and when storms of life come our way he will always be there to carry us through no matter what. thanks for your kind comments on my poetry God bless you from diane
