My Way of Life

Living for today,
Is something you do,
But is it okay,
If I join you?

Living, in a way,
Cannot be defined,
To my dismay,
It's not just mankind.

--------------------------

Our bodies are a cage,
Keeping us confined,
As our minds age,
We tend to grow blind.

--------------------------

I learned something new,
Just a short time ago,
Something drew me to you,
Something I had to know.

I meant something,
I found someone to live for,
I was under your wing,
You became someone I adore.

--------------------------

Now I live life my way,
You taught me why I should,
I am here to stay,
I am here, with you, for good.
