My Version of You

I will not cry for you.
That who you were
No longer exists.
Lingered thoughts
Only damage.

Hold me

Back

From moving forwards.

You were your own lie.
Time after time I believed
We could see past the present
Return to what we built,
But now I know
You weren’t, aren’t and
Never will be
My version of you.
